BCPD officer Washington promoted to corporal

   On Monday, March 4, the Bay City Police Department held a promotional ceremony.   
  The ceremony was held in the Bay City Council Chambers with Police Chief Christella Rodriguez officiating.   
  Several members of the police department as well as family and friends were present to congratulate the new corporal.   
  Officer Jeromy Washington was promoted to the rank of corporal.   
  Corporal Washington joined the Bay City Police Department in July of 2020.   
  He is a field training officer, basic instructor and part time personal trainer.   
  While employed with Bay City PD, he has received recognition for perfect attendance three years in a row as well as awards for life saving and safe driving.   
  He’s also received a unit citation and merit award.   
  Washington is a Houstonv native.  
  He is married to his beautiful wife, Ashley, and blessed with five children.   
  He enjoys fishing, lifting weights, country music, and dogs.   
  Washington graduated from Evan E. Worthing High School and attended Lamar University and graduated from the University of Houston Downtown, receiving his Peace Officer License in 2019.   
  He was inspired to become a police officer because he wanted to make a difference in his community and be a positive police role model to the youth in our nation.
