"Christmas Parade reset for Dec. 14" by: Jessica Shepard

The City of Bay City’s Parks and Recreation, Police, and Public Works departments officially rescheduled the “HomeTown Christmas Lighted Parade” for 7 p.m.  Thursday, Dec. 14, in downtown Bay City.
The parade route, parade entry numbers, and staging area will remain the same from the Friday, Dec. 1, cancellation.
The city decided on Friday afternoon to cancel the parade due to the forecast of thunderstorms before the parade was set to start.
“We apologize for the inconvenience canceling the parade caused, but the safety of all the participants, city staff, and volunteers was our main concern,” reads PARD’s Facebook page.
“The Parks and Recreation Department will reach out to all parade entries and inform them of the new date. We hope that all that signed up for the parade can participate on that day.”
Parade entries can contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 979-323-1660 or via e-mail, parks-rec@cityofbaycity.org, to let us know if you can make the re-scheduled parade.
