Tuesday’s general election included Tidehaven and Van Vleck school board positions.
The Sentinel is published before election results are counted at the county and state levels.
As of press time Tuesday morning, the Sentinel didn’t receive the early vote totals from the County Clerk’s office.
As soon as we get the general election totals, we will share them on Facebook.
While county-level offices were determined in this year’s Republican primary, the school board races are the only local candidates on ballots for Tidehaven and Van Vleck precincts.
The Tidehaven positions are currently held by incumbents Scott Cheek, Stephen “T-John” Crow, and Mike Galvan, Jr.
Other candidates include Carissa Diaz, Cody Frick, Joseph Frick, Micheal Callais, C.J. Simpson, and Eric Kacer.
On the ballot, voters can select none, one, two, three, or four candidates to vote for rather than voting by trustee position.
Van Vleck school board positions 1-4 are currently held by Donnie O’Connell, Kurtis Brown, Terry Evans, and Tony Kucera respectively.
Incumbent O’Connell faces Savanna Stewart for Position 1.
Position 2 has Marcus Moss and Horace Woodard Jr. vying for its seat.
Lauran Kubecka and Charlie Hill face off for Position 3.
Incubent Kucera is running unopposed for Position 4.
Brown and Evans are not running.
