"Election roundup: Forum for candidates; city, BCISD filings" by: Mike Reddell

   Early voting for the March 1 primary election will begin Monday, Feb. 14, and there will be a political forum for local candidates starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Bay City’s VFW Auxiliary Post 2438.
   There are recent filings in the City of Bay City and BCISD May 7 elections, with the filing deadline Feb. 18.
   Kimberly Wilett has filed for Position 3 on the BCISD school board, formerly held by John DeWitt.
   Two trustee incumbents, Trent Tinnin and James Scardami, have filed for re-election to their trustee seats.
   Tinnin holds the board’s Position 1 seat, while Scardami, who is board president, is in Position 2.
   The most recent filings in the city race were by incumbents Mayor Robert Nelson, and Becca Sitz, who holds council’s Position 4.
   Bradley Westmoreland has filed for his Position 3 seat, and Blayne Finlay for Position 5.
   Jason Childers earlier decided that he won’t seek re-election to Position 5.
   Early voting for the March 1 primary election will be from Feb. 14 to Feb. 25 (weekdays only) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Thursdays 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
   Early voting locations will be the Bay City Service Center, at 2105 Ave. M, Bay City, and the Matagorda County Courthouse Annex, 405 Commerce St., Palacios. 
   Those filing in Matagorda County are all Republicans, with the exception of the Democratic Party chairman:
