If you’re looking for some spooky fun and family-friendly Halloween events, check out what’s happening in and around Bay City this weekend.
There are events starting as early as Thursday evening and more on Saturday and Sunday.
Some may be subject to change depending on weather, but here’s the list just in case!
The Bay City Main Street Program hosts “Witches Who Wine” from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, around the Matagorda County Courthouse square.
Join downtown merchants for drinks, snacks, and shopping all before Halloween weekend.
The Bay City High School Class of 2022 project graduation group hosts a haunted house for $5 per person for entry.
It opens Thursday, Oct. 28, from 7-11 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 30-31, from 7 p.m. until midnight at the corner of Avenue I and Eighth Street in Bay City.
There will also be a concession stand available.
Schulman’s MBG “Trunk or Treat” event returns this year from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, in their parking lot.
There will be a variety of festive activities including trick-or-treating, character meet and greets, a pumpkin painting contest, and more.
Check out Pura Vida’s mini-market from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at 4309 Avenue F in Bay City.
The market will feature local vendors and homemade goods for purchase.
The Bay City Public Library is hosting a “Trunk or Treat” from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, at the library, 1100 7th St. in Bay City.
Admission is free and features a costume contest, spooky stories, candy giveaways, and a photo booth.

First Church of Bay City hosts their free trunk or treat event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, at the church, 700 Avenue I in Bay City.
The event also features Real Deal Grill and Kate’s Coffee, Tea, and More for food and drinks on site.
HEB is hosting its own trick-or-treat event from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the store, 2700 7th St. in Bay City.
Attendees are encouraged to come in costume and there will be several set-ups inside the store.
Markham’s Discover Life Church will host its trunk or treat from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at the church, 709 FM 1468, in Markham.
There will be games, prizes and lots of candy for children of all ages.
The Blessing EFLM Lions Club will host their trunk or treat community event from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Blessing Ball Park and pavilion.
There will be a costume contest for pets, kids, and the best trunk with trophies awarded.

Van Vleck’s First United Methodist Church has its trunk or treat from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at the church, 42 4th St in Van Vleck.
The event features candy and games along with safe trick-or-treating.
Ignite Church has its trunk or treat event from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, at the church, 900 Nichols Avenue in Bay City.
There will be food, games and a bounce house for children.
