STP Nuclear Operating Company Board of Directors has selected Kym Harshaw as STP’s new Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO).
Harshaw is highly respected across the organization and throughout the industry, and has served as Acting Chief Nuclear Officer since August.
Prior to taking the CNO seat, Harshaw served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel since joining the company in 2016.

“Kym is a dedicated and experienced leader with a background of broad industry and operational knowledge that makes her an excellent choice for this role.”
Kym has more than 26 years of experience in the nuclear industry.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Harshaw also holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
She has held positions of increasing responsibility in both nuclear energy operations and legal affairs for numerous nuclear energy companies prior to joining STP.

The South Texas Project is managed by the STP Nuclear Operating Company and owned by NRG Texas, CPS Energy and Austin Energy.
STP’s twin reactors produce 2,700 megawatts of carbon-free electricity, enough to power two million homes.
