"Lack of vehicle recall completion causes fire" By Dan Shook

Bay City Fire Marshal

Bay City Volunteer Fire Department, Bay City Fire Marshal, and Bay City Police Department were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the 1500 block 8th  St, Bay City, at about 8:19 a.m. Wednesday, May 31.
A white Ford F-350 was found to have flames and smoke coming from the engine compartment.
The fire extended from the engine compartment to the dashboard in the cab.
The fire was extinguished by the fire department.
No one was injured during the fire.
The fire damage was about $15,000.
The Bay City Fire Marshal conducted an investigation of the fire.
A search on the VIN on Ford’s website identified a recall that was not completed.
The recall explained that a fire could occur if it was not completed.
The cause is most likely due to the recall not being completed.
Owners of vehicles should have recalls due for their vehicles completed by a dealership free of charge.
Search your vehicle’s VIN on the company websites.
