Matagorda Regional Medical Center Wellness Center and Matagorda County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service host a “Diabetes Lunch and Learn” program Friday, June 13.
The program official starts at 12:15 p.m. in the Harbor Room at the Wellness Center (Dome), 135 Medical Center Drive in Bay City.
As part of a continuing series, participants will be shown how to prepare healthy recipes, learn about podiatry care and be provided a light lunch.
Samples of the recipes will be provided.
The recipes are quick, easy and can help persons with type 2 diabetes enjoy tasty and satisfying foods.
Diabetes can be an overwhelming disease.
Through the series of Lunch and Learns, persons with type 2 diabetes will learn to break down the daily practice of managing diabetes to help control blood sugar and symptoms and feel better.
While there is no charge for the Lunch and Learn and anyone wanting to learn more about managing diabetes for themselves or their family is encouraged to attend, participants are asked to pre-register by contacting the Matagorda County AgriLife Extension office at 979-245-4100.
