"Myrtha Pools presents proposal for BCISD board " by: Jessica Shepard

Bay City ISD trustees heard a Myrtha Pools presentation for more information about a possible swim facility at the Bay City High School campus at their Nov. 16 meeting.
Depending on what the district needs and prices vary from $1.5 million to $3.2 million or more.
The basic pool would be six feet deep to meet student needs across the district.
An eight-lane, 25-yard by 66 feet pool design was presented to the board.
“I just want to stress that I am not here as the sales and marketing director for Myrtha Pools,” said Myrtha Pools representative Jon Cleveland.
“We hope you end up getting a Myrtha Pool at some point. But, I am here as a former coach, swimmer, and aquatics director.”
The Myrtha Pools website lists Jon Cleveland as the lone regional sales manager for all of Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, New Jersey, New York, and Oklahoma.
Cleveland said that he had been working with Bay City High School swim coach Bob Button on “brainstorming” ideas to get a pool on campus.
“We provide some really good information upfront before an architect is retained,” he added.
“We’ll show you why it’s so important to build aquatic centers.”
