From Phillips 66
Phillips 66 Sweeny Refinery recently honored eight area high school educators teaching in the science or math fields with the 2025 Science/Math Teacher Recognition Award.
This ongoing program is a way for Phillips 66 to recognize outstanding educators and thank them for their dedication to their students in the classroom.
“Phillips 66 remains deeply committed to advancing Education Equity and strengthening STEM learning opportunities for students in the communities we serve,” said Jessica Follett, Public Affairs Advisor at Phillips 66.
“What makes this initiative especially meaningful is that it allows us to support the science and math educators who are at the heart of that work.
“Their passion helps spark curiosity, build confidence, and open doors for students to pursue future studies or careers in these critical fields.
“The students they inspire today may become part of our workforce tomorrow.”
Each of the eight local high schools nominate their teacher of choice to be recognized by Phillips 66 and their respective school district at an annual luncheon and awards ceremony, on Feb. 20, at the Sweeny Community Center.
Each recipient receives a $1,000 personal bonus check and certificate.
