A 59-year-old Bay City woman was arrested on two charges after police said she fled the scene of an accident involving injuries July 19.
The woman, Maria G. Lopez, was placed in custody for accident involving injury and driving while intoxicated, and taken to Matagorda County Jail and booked in on those charges.
Leading up to the arrest, Officer Seth Alvarez was dispatched to 5100 block of 7th Street in reference to a two-vehicle accident at 3 p.m. Friday, July 19.
Dispatch advised they received multiple 911 calls stating there was an accident with possibly injuries.
They then advised that a black GMC Terrain was leaving location.
Other officers checked the area for the black GMC while Alvarez made the scene of the accident.

The victim told Alvarez that she was driving eastbound in the outside lane in the 5000 block of 7th street.
As she was driving, the victim said the black GMC Terrain made an unsafe lane change into her lane, causing the vehicles to collide.
Fire Marshal Dan Shook said he located the black GMC in the 1600 Block of Edna Avenue.
Shook identified the driver of the Terrain and placed her into custody.
