BC police partners with TxDOT’s "End The Streak" program
This holiday season, the Bay City Police Department (BCPD) reminds everyone to drive safely and make responsible decisions on the road.
To underscore the devastating consequences of impaired driving, BCPD placed a wrecked car display at the intersection of Texas 35 and County Road 457.
This powerful visual serves as a reminder of what can happen when drivers choose to get behind the wheel impaired.
The display is part of BCPD's collaboration with TxDOT’s "End The Streak" campaign, which aims to eliminate daily deaths on Texas roadways.
As of today, there hasn’t been a deathless day on Texas roads in over 23 years.
With your help, we can change that.
This time of year is filled with celebrations and family gatherings, but it is also one of the most dangerous times on our roadways.
We urge all drivers to make a commitment: if you plan to drink, designate a sober driver or use a ride service.
One moment of poor judgment can lead to a lifetime of regret.
A Message from Chief Christella Rodriguez:
“The wrecked car display is not just a piece of metal on the side of the road - it represents real lives lost and families shattered.
We hope it serves as a wake-up call.
This holiday season, we’re asking everyone to do their part: slow down, buckle up, and never drive impaired.
Let’s make this a time of joy, not tragedy.”
The Bay City Police Department and TxDOT wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
Let’s work together to protect our community and end the streak of preventable fatalities on our roads.
