Shooting victim found on JP Davis; police seek information

   Bay City police detectives are investigating a shooting victim who was found by officers on JP Davis at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 4. 
   Officers were sent to the 2900 block of JP Davis in reference to shots fired, reports show. 
   Officer Tyler Ramirez was already in the area when the call was dispatched. 
   Ramirez was flagged down by a subject who was next to a male laying on the ground with what appeared to be blood around him.  
   Ramirez was told that the victim had been shot and the officer began first aid measures on the victim until EMS arrived.  
   EMS transported the victim to Matagorda Regional Medical Center. 
   The victim was later flown to Memorial Herman in Houston. 
   Detectives were notified of the incident and Detective Chris Cunningham arrived on location. 
   The scene was turned over to him. Detectives are actively working on this case.
