Suspicious vehicle leads to theft arrest

A Bay City patrol officer's suspicions of truck parked at a building on Carey Smith Boulevard lead to a man's arrest for stealing an air condition unit.
While on patrol at about 4 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, Officer Cody Janssen saw a vehicle in the parking lot of 2901 Carey Smith Blvd, and contacted the person in the vehicle.
While talking with the man, Janssen saw an AC unit in the back of the truck.
The man originally told Janssen
the AC unit had been in the truck.
But he changed his story after Janssen found freshly cut wires where the AC came from by the building, and the man admitted to taking the AC Unit.
Dale Dolatowski, 54, was arrested and charged with a state jail felony theft.
An employee of the building was later contacted and came out.
He told officers that three additional AC units also had been stolen in the last few days. This case has been assigned to
Detective Chris Cunningham and we encourage anyone with more information on this to contact him at 979-245-8500
