If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, check out these local events.
Matagorda County Trade Days are slated for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, around the courthouse square.
Artisans, crafters, and more from across the state arrive in Bay City on the fourth Saturday of every month, bringing handcrafted items ranging from exquisite jewelry, fashionable clothing, and pottery to one-of-a-kind items.
This year’s annual Matagorda County Museum Gourmet Guys fundraiser will be “Cruising the Caribbean” at the Bay City Civic Center to give you a taste of what the tropical location has to offer.
“This theme was chosen because it seemed like a fun, colorful, and tasty way for the cooks to showcase their dishes,” said Matagorda County Museum Director Barbara Smith.
Smith has about 20 cooks lined up for the Saturday, Sept. 25, event – which kicks off with a social hour at 6 p.m. and leads to the main event from 7-9 p.m.
The tickets are $40 each and may be purchased by going to the museum or calling (979)245-7502 and purchasing them with a credit card to have them mailed to you.
