Matagorda County 2024 unofficial vote returns are in with 13,345 votes cast out of 22,338 registered voters.
Republican candidate Rick Deleon won Sheriff with 9,307 total votes.
Matagorda ISD Trustee Position 3 went to Gina Treybig with 250 votes.
Matagorda County Navigation District No. 1 Port of Palacios Position 2 went to Carlos Duran with 960 total votes.
All unopposed candidates won their respective races.
In state races:
US Senator incumbent Ted Cruz won with 9,477 votes.
District 22 Representative incumbent Troy Nehls won with 9,767 votes.
State Senator District 17 incumbent Joan Huffman won with 9,727 votes.
District 30 Representative candidate AJ Louderback won with 9,703 votes.
For President, Republican Donald Trump received 9,951 votes in Matagorda County, to Democrat Kamala Harris’ total of 3,224 votes.
