Bandera game notes
It was great to earn another win vs a larger school.
Bandera gets a lot of credit for playing hard all the until the end of the game.
We pulled away by 11 in the 4th quarter but they kept playing hard and we made some uncharacteristic mistakes down the stretch.
It was a good win to move us to the Bronze Championship bracket.
Bay City who we beat the day before went to the Gold Championship bracket because of the upset win vs Edna.

China Springs game notes
It was a horrible ending to a successful tournament for us.
I am proud of how we finished 2-2 in a very competitive tournament (we were the smallest school in the tournament).
There was some disappointment that we were not in the Gold or Silver bracket since our only loss was a triple OT game vs Edna.
Unfortunately, we came out flat and Chin Springs took advantage of that.
Their defense never allowed us to get into a rhythm.
China Springs controlled the game and we never played with the energy and passion that we usually play with.
Corey was named to the all-tournament team.
He averaged 25.5 PPG and dominated 3 of the games we played.
Back to district play: at Hempstead then #1 in state Hitchcock
Overall record 10-6 & 1-0 in district.

Bay City game notes
It was awesome to get another victory over our rival Bay City.
We are proud to sweep them by beating them at our and their tournament.
Everyone contributed to the big win. Corey led all scorers with a game-high 21 points.
He carried us and he is one the best guards in our region.
Ty’lan Robertson had a great overall game.
He played good defense, handled the ball, and scored.
It is great seeing Ty’lan play at a high level.
We are a better team when he does.
Peyton Huerta played tough defense and rebounded like a warrior.

Edna game notes
Edna has beaten us twice this season.
Both times it was a tough hard-fought game.
Corey dominated the game scoring a game-high and career-high 41 points while playing every second of both games vs Bay City and Edna.
Imposing game for him considering he played 11 straight quarters.
Corey is proving why he is one of the best players in our region and in my opinion, he is the best player in our region. He does so much for our team other than scoring.
Ty’lan had another good game.
He defended, handled the ball, and scored in double figures.
The difference in the game was again Free Throw shooting.
We shot a dismal 5-17 from the FT line and Edna shot 18-32.
Another key factor in the outcome was Peyton fouling out for us.
We are a much better team when he is on the floor.
He’s a great rebounder and a good defender. We cannot afford when he has to go due to foul trouble.
