Matagorda County new confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to decline, following statewide trends.
The county has 108 new cases in the past 14 days for a per capita rate of 3 per 1,000 residents, according to the Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
That’s a drop from DSHS statistics a week earlier.
Bay City Independent School District’s COVID-19 tracker posted Oct. 7 shows five students and three staff members tested positive.
Some 15.1 million people, or 51.8% of Texas’ population are fully vaccinated.
For Matagorda County, 41.8 of its residents are fully vaccinated and 49.3% have received at least one dose.
