Bay City Police officers went to the 2700 block of Avenue E, about a possible burglary of a residence at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Officer Vickie Pursley saw a male matching the description given to dispatch.
The 16-year-old male saw Pursley and began to flee on foot.
After the male jumped a fence, he found a bicycle and started to evade officers on the bicycle.
A business owner, in the 2700 block of Avenue F, saw what was happening and pushed the bike, causing the teen to lose control of the bicycle.
Pursley, Sergeant James Philip, and Detective Christopher Cunningham took the male into custody.
The male was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile.
As in all cases dealing with persons under the age of 17, Juvenile Probation was called, and the male was released to their custody.
He was charged with the burglary of a habitation, evading arrest/detention, and resisting arrest/search/transportation.
