A 30-year-old Bay City man was arrested on a murder warrant that alleges he killed his 81-year-old grandfather, George Pal Goodman.
George Pal Goodman was found dead at his residence on Private Rd. 517 off FM 457 around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers started an investigation into the death.
A warrant for murder and a warrant for tampering with physical evidence with intent to impair was served on Zachary Dylon Weigt, 30, of Bay City, on Aug. 15, in connection with the death of George Pal Goodman, 81.
Weight was arrested Aug. 12, on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a warrant for assault bodily injury, deputies said.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time by the Texas Rangers and the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office.
