A local traffic stop for expired registration and faulty brake lamp leads to methamphetamine arrest on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at approximately 3:15 p.m.
K9 Detective Tommy Hallman initiated a traffic stop on Texas Highway 35 East near Van Vleck, Texas.
The stop was made on a gold in color nissan pickup after Detective Hallman noticed a faulty brake lamp and also expired motor vehicle registration.
BCPD K9 Bulifwy was utilized which alerted the handler to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 53 grams of a white crystal-like substance.
The substance was field tested which showed a positive result for the presence of methamphetamine.
The vehicle was seized pending forfeiture proceedings since the vehicle was used to transport narcotics.
The driver of the vehicle, Robert Michael Jones 62, of Houston, Texas was arrested and booked into Matagorda County jail for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.
