Bay City police served a man with seven warrants and charged him on three additional complaints in what officers said was an ongoing criminal investigation.
Calvin Williams, 44, was charged with possession of controlled substance, fail to identify-fugitive from justice, and theft, reports show.
As part of the narcotics investigations, police said there were outstanding warrants on the suspect, who was possibly dealing drugs at the South Texas Inn, at 1121 Ave. F.
Sgt. Joe Bruno confirmed the warrants on Williams, which consisted of five felony warrants and two misdemeanor warrants.
On Tuesday, Dec. 3, Bruno, Detective Andy Hallman, along with Patrol Sgt. Marino Chavez, and Corporal Jordan Siegel, went to Williams’ room, where the door was found open.
They saw the suspect on the bed.
After he gave a wrong name, Hallman was able to identify the man from previous jail photos.
The suspect resisted officers while they handcuffed him and brought him out to the patrol unit.
Search incident to the arrest, showed that Williams had methamphetamine on his person.
A stolen grocery basket also was found in man's room.
