Man tells police robbers stole his wallet, shot him

A Bay City man was shot and robbed in his apartment shortly after midnight Saturday, May 27, Bay City police said.
Police initially were sent to two locations.
One officer was sent to the Matagorda Regional Medical Center (MRMC) in reference to a victim with a gunshot wound.
And other officers went to 1801 Palm Village about a robbery.
After officers spoke with the victim at the MRMC Emergency Room, it was determined the two incidents were related, reports show.
The victim said two Black males forced him into his apartment at gun point.
The males then took the victim’s wallet before shooting him, police said.
The victim was unable to provide any more information before he was life-flighted to Houston, officers said.
Detectives went to Palm Village and took over the investigation.
If anyone has information, they are asked to call 979-245-8500 and speak with Det. Corporal Robert Pierce.
