A Bay City man, who tried to avoid custody, was caught and arrested on a warrant by Bay City police Tuesday, May 7.
Officer Keith Hatton was sent to the 2400 block of 7th street at about 8:30 a.m. May 7, in reference to suspicious persons.
Upon arrival, Hatton contacted two men.
A check was run on both of them through dispatch.
One man, Alan D. Warren, 64, of Bay City, was found to have an outstanding warrant from the pardon and parole office.
Hatton advised Warren he was under arrest for a warrant and attempted to put him in handcuffs.
Warren pulled away from and took off running down Cottonwood.
Hatton chased Warren, but lost sign of him in an alley.
Officer Cody Janssen and Cpl. Tyler Ramirez located Warren and detained him.
Warren was transported to the Matagorda County Jail, where he was booked on the charge of evading with a previous conviction, resisting arrest/detention and probation violation.
