Roscoe Moore III, 38, of Bay City, was arrested at his residence on a warrant for continuous sexual abuse of a child – victim under 14 years of age – by Bay City police at about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 9.
The warrant stems from a case that was reported to the police department on June 1, police said.
Officer Luis Moreno was dispatched to the police department to meet with a victim who wanted to report a sexual assault on June 1.
When he arrived, he met with the parent of a child who alleged they had been sexually assaulted by Moore, reports show.
The report was filed and turned over to an investigator.
Through their investigation, detectives determined this was not an isolated incident and the victim had been sexually assaulted on multiple occasions.
After further investigation, a warrant was issued and served on Moore, police said.
He was taken to the Matagorda County Jail without further incident.
