A 38-year-old Bay City man was arrested on charges of evading arrest after investigating a disturbance on Avenue F Monday, Nov. 15.
Police was sent to the 3600 block of Avenue F at 2:19 p.m. Monday, on a suspicious circumstance call.
Officers were notified that there was a black male, later identified as walking around with a gun in his back pocket.
Upon arrival, officers found the man in a parking lot in the 3500 block of Avenue F.
The man told officers he was scared and didn’t know why they were out with him, reports show.
He then reached in his waistband and pulled out what was later identified as a bb gun.
Officers pointed their weapons at the man and commanded him to drop the gun.
The man dropped the gun and then fled on foot.
Officers chased and captured him.
Christopher D. Austin, 38, Bay City, was transported to the Matagorda County Jail. and charged with evading arrest/detention with a previous conviction.
