A 15-year-old Sealy student was taken into custody last week in connection with sending a Snapchat post threatening harm to BCHS, according to the BCISD-Police Department.
The district’s posted on its Facebook page Friday, May 12, that “BCISD-PD was made aware of a Snapchat post that was sent to the Bay City High School Basketball Team, threatening to cause harm to Bay City High School.”
The post indicated a BCHS student reported the social media post immediately to the BCISD Police Department.
“BCISD-PD immediately started an investigation on the social media post and who posted the threatening message.
“Upon investigation, BCISD-PD identified the suspect involved as a 15-year-old student from Sealy ISD.
“BCISD-PD and the Sealy Police Department worked closely together ensuring that the student was apprehended as quickly as possible.”
The suspect was taken into custody by the Sealy Police Department.
“Bay City ISD takes any threat seriously and will always take the highest security measures to keep its students and staff safe.
“The safety and security of BCISD students and staff is always the highest priority for BCISD.”
