Tidehaven ISD trustees reviewed 313 agreement applications with a possible synthetic fuel manufacturer and Danish Fields Solar farm during their regular meeting, Monday night, Oct. 11.
A 313 taxable value limitation agreement is a limitation of appraised value property for school district maintenance and operations taxes by TISD that lasts for 10 years.
“This is not a binding agreement for a 313 application,” said TISD Superintendent Dr. Andrew Seigrist, reminding the board.
“This is accepting the application for review and does not tie us to anything.”
The HIF (Highly Innovative Fuels) project was introduced as “Project Helix” by Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Scott Hardwick.
“We met with commissioners this morning and agree that this is a big opportunity for Matagorda County,” said Hardwick.
“This is a highly competitive project and we’re facing off against other states to land this,” he said.
“That’s about all I can say on this since myself and others have had to sign NDAs (non-disclosure agreements).”
HIF proposes a 340-acre synthetic fuel manufacturing facility located at about 10% in Tidehaven’s district boundaries with the rest in Palacios ISD.
