Two arrested in nursing home probe

The former administrator of Colonial Nursing Home in Bay City was recently arrested on a charge of tampering with a government record defraud/harm.
Cassity Jones, 37, of Katy, posted a $30,000 bond on the Nov. 28, 2022, offense for his release from Matagorda County Jail.
Court records show that Jones made a false entry in Texas Health and Human Services Provider Investigation report.
A former Colonial resident, Michael McCloud, 48, was arrested Feb. 20, county records show and faces charges filed in district court for injury to a child, elderly or disabled with bodily injury, a third degree felony.
He also faces a Harris County charge for aggravated sexual assault of an elderly or disabled person.
Bay City Police Lt. Chris Hadash said he was in contact with the Texas Attorney General’s Office.
They were the lead investigators in the cases that led to the arrests of Michael McCloud and Cassity Jones at the Colonial in Bay City, Hadash said.
The Bay City Police Department assisted by serving the warrants, Hadash said.
