Tidehaven wallops Palacios, prepares for homecoming against Industrial

Tidehaven prepares for a homecoming game against respected Industrial this Friday, Sept. 17, after defeating Palacios 28-7 with a solid offense and a stingy defense at Palacios last Friday.
Tidehaven has 320 total yards of offense against the Sharks, piling up 189 yards rushing and 131 yards passing.
   Palacios compiled 279 total yards.
Tiger quarterback Logan Crow had game-high rushing total of 132 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown.
Running back Jose Martinez rushed for 40 yards on 15 carries, with two touchdowns.
In passing, Crow was 8 of 18 for 131 yards and a touchdown.
Tiger receiver Joseph Dodds caught Crow’s throw for a touchdown and had three receptions for 52 yards.
Kevin Rickaway had two catches for 50 yards.
Tidehaven’s defense held Palacios to 21 carries for 67 yards rushing and 112 yards passing.
Tiger Chance Robinson had an interception, and Wyatt Lee had one strip sack and Matthew Rush recovered.
“It was great day for us last Friday,” Tiger Head Coach David Lucio said.
“Our boys played a good game and took care of business.
“Our buses rolled into Palacios and left with two dominant victories on both the volleyball court and football field,” he added.
“We still have some cleaning up to do as far as penalties and other mistakes.
“If we would have played a cleaner game we could have put them away by mid-third quarter,” Lucio remarked.
“This week we take on a team that’s expected to play for a state championship in 3A D1,” Lucio said of Friday’s game with the Industrial Cobras.
“We had a few more players added to the injured list so we may be calling up some more players from our undefeated JV squad.
“We must find a way to play a mistake- free game to have a chance at the upset,” Lucio said.
“It’s going to be a great challenge, but I know our boys will be ready to take it on.”
