"Old Gulf eyed for new development" by: Mike Reddell

    A possible new economic development project could be located on the Old Gulf site near Matagorda, the Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation discussed at its regular meeting Friday, Sept. 24.
   If the project becomes reality, it could be “transformational,” said MCEDC Executive Director Scott Hardwick.
   Code named Project Wave, the proposed developers have leased 20,000 square feet of space, said Jessica Russell, executive director of the Bay City Community Development Corporation.
   A partnership with that proposed Old Gulf development “would be a great fit” for the Port of Bay City Authority, which recently completed its feasibility study for commercial prospects, said George Harrison, MCEDC treasurer and a port commissioner.
