The Tiger 8th grade team defeated Freeport by a score of 16-8.
Scoring for the Tigers was QB Kale Russell with a 20 yard td run in the 3rd quarter after a scoreless half for both teams.
Russell ran in the two-point try. Later in the 3rd, Russell found WR Boogie Galvan for a 49-yd td on a screen pass.
Two-point pass from Russell to Rb/wr Bryce Sliva was converted.
Freeport bounced back to begin the 4th with a td and a two-point run.
With about five minutes to go, the Tigers were able run out the clock. Picking up huge first down runs was RB Jason Purpich.
The defense was solid all night had two goaline stands inside our 5 yd line.
Linebackers Eli Daily, Bryce Sliva and DE Paco Lara were in on several tackles.
