Commissioners Court approved the Sargent “Historic Stretch” Beach Nourishment project submitted by the Corps of Engineers at the court’s regular meeting Monday, Sept. 27.
Precinct 2 Commissioner Kent Pollard explained the Corps’ Galveston District Real Estate application indicates the “historic stretch” will now extend one mile east and one mile west of FM 457.
Beach nourishment activities will be on the previously engineered and nourished historic stretch along Sargent gulf frontage, documents show.
