The rate of declining new COVID-19 confirmed cases shows up in most, if not all, measures of the infection in Matagorda County.
In the State Department of Health Services data on new cases in Matagorda County, there’s but a handful of cases shown on recent days.
In the DSHS per capita breakdown, there are 1.5 cases per 1,000 residents in the report Tuesday, Oct. 26, that also indicates there have been 53 new cases over the previous 14 days.
Another indicator, BCISD’s COVID-19 tracker that was posted last Thursday, Oct. 21, shows one student tested positive and there were no staff members who tested positive – a big drop from earlier this fall semester.
Overall, Matagorda County has 5,033 confirmed cases, 1,021 probable cases, 156 deaths, 37 active cases (estimated) and 5,923 recovered, DSHS reports.
In Matagorda County, 15,274 people are fully vaccinated, or 42.4% of the population, DSHS indicates.
In addition, 18,038 residents, or 49.8% of the county’s population, have received at least one dose, DSHS data shows.
