The investigation into the Oct. 22 fire that destroyed Taylor Brothers Funeral Home has been closed, Fire Marshal Dan Shook said last week.
“Because of the extent of the damage to the structure, an exact cause could not be determined,” Shook said in his final report Thursday, Oct. 28.
“There were, however, no indications the fire was other than accidental, ruling out the fire being arson,” the Fire Marshal added.
“Because the fire was determined to be accidental, the case is being closed.”
Shook said he could not give a dollar amount for damage from the fire.
Taylor Brothers Funeral Home continues to be open for business.
