"COVID-19 cases dropping; vaccinations remain same" by: Mike Reddell

New COVID-19 cases in Matagorda County remain on a steep decline and follow statewide trends.
The per capita rate in the county is now .7 cases per 1,000 residents and there were 25 new cases during the previous 14 days, the Department of State Health Services reported Tuesday, Nov. 2.
Bay City ISD COVID-19 tracker that’s posted weekly on Thursday shows one student and four staff members tested positive.
Overall, the county has 5,043 confirmed cases, 1,022 probable cases, 156 deaths, 18 active cases, and 5,946 recovered (estimate).
DSHS also reports that 42.8% of Matagorda County residents are fully vaccinated.
As of Oct. 30, about 53.1% of Texas’ 29.1 million people have been fully vaccinated.
About 9 million Texans are not fully vaccinated, DSHS data shows and the state has seen a decrease in vaccines administered since early September.
