One arrested for evading and endangering a child

Bay City police arrested a 21-year-old Bay City man for evading and endangering a child early Sunday morning, Oct. 31, reports show.
Officer Daniel Harbaugh was sent to the 4600 block of 7th Street in reference to an assault at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Before her arrived, Harbaugh was notified that the suspect had arrived on location with the victim.
At that time, Harbaugh could see the victim and suspect, and he saw the suspect get into a silver Kia four-door and start to leave.
Harbaugh attempted to stop the vehicle when it accelerated and tried to get away, police said.
Harbaugh pursued the vehicle to the 1700 block of Cheyenne.
At that time Rolando Frausto Jr., 21, Bay City, was taken into custody for evading arrest with a motor vehicle, reports show.
While arresting Frausto for evading, Harbaugh saw a child in the back seat of the vehicle.
Frausto also was charged with abandoning/endangering a child, officers said.
It was discovered that the assault from the original call actually happened in the county, so the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office was notified to meet with the victim.
Frausto was taken to the Matagorda County Jail and booked for the evading and the child endangerment charges, files show.
