"County hears broad rescue plan overview" by: Mike Reddell

   Commissioners Court heard a “broad overview” of the American Rescue Plan Administration (ARPA) and approved the Matagorda County 2021 levy tax roll report, at the court’s regular meeting Monday, Nov. 15.
   Angela Leach with GrantWorks presented the overview of the ARPA.
   GrantWorks is contracted by the county to administer the plan which allocated $7,117,473 for Matagorda County.
   GrantWorks fee is $325,700, for a $6,791,733 remainder.
   There was no discussion on how the funds will be dispersed.
   Leach’s overview is part of the required funding process, County Auditor Kristin Kubecka told the court.
   The court approved the ARPA administrative services contract with GrantWorks.
   Tax Assessor-Collector Becky Cook’s 2021 levy tax roll report shows Matagorda County has a total of $7,689,328,951 in assessed value.
   There were $2,262,539,413 in exemptions, leaving a taxable amount of $5,436,789,638.
   The tax total was $21,693,331, the report shows.
   In other action, the court approved the deputation of Priscila Fernandez and Jaci Arbing as deputy district clerks.
