The Tidehaven Tigers lost to the Poth Pirates 27-14 in the regional round of the UIL tournament Friday, Nov. 26, at Cuero’s Gobbler Stadium.
“Turnovers seem to be the difference, with us committing three and Poth having 0,” said Tiger Head Coach David Lucio.
“Untimely penalties also made it a bit more difficult for us.
“You cannot play like that and expect to beat a team as good as Poth (11-1),” he added.

The Tiger defense stiffened and forced Poth into a 19-yard field goal, giving the Pirates a 3-0 lead, with 7:13 left in the first quarter.

Sophomore Joseph Dodds had 141 all-purpose yards – rushing, receiving plus punt and kickoff returns.
