There was no indication the fire at Lynn Group – the old Bowlera building - was other than accidental, ruling out arson, Bay City Fire Marshal Daniel Shook said in his recent investigation report.
Shook said the Texas Fire Marshal’s office assisted him in the Dec. 2 investigation of the Nov. 24 fire at 53 7th St.
“The area of origin was determined to be in the rear of the structure; however, the exact cause could not be determined,” Shook said in his report.
“There was no indication the fire was other than accidental, ruling out the fire being arson.
“Because the fire was determined to be accidental, the case is being closed,” he said.
Shook added that an exact dollar amount for damages from the fire cannot be determined at this time.
The scene was released to the Lynn Group, which continues to operate from their current location at 1221 Ave F.
