"Weekend events set countywide" by: Jessica Shepard

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, check out what’s going on in Bay City and Palacios.
Time’s running out to get tickets for the last showings for this year’s Community Actors of South Texas’ (CAST) annual Night on Broadway production “Night on Broadway: A Night of Song & Dance.”
The showcase is slated for 6: 30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Jan. 27-29, at their building, 920 Nichols Avenue, Bay City.
The dinner theater meals will be chicken fettuccini alfredo with salad, bread, and dessert catered by Fat Grass Restaurant.
Song and dance numbers cover a variety of musical genres from jazz to classic rock.
The showcase is appropriate for all ages and features new and familiar faces on stage.
Tickets are $45 per person and must be purchased in advance at baycitycast.com.
The City by the Sea Museum hosts a “Lunar New Year” family event from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at the museum 401 Commerce Street in Palacios.
Museum members can attend for free and non-members are asked to support the museum by paying $5 per family.
There will be two craft activities for children and a short presentation on the importance of the holiday.
Check out the Bay City Parks and Recreation Department’s annual “Camo Half K” at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Le Tulle Park.
The registration fee is $35 per person and includes a race shirt, camo bag, and medal.
For more information on the event, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 979-323-1660 or email parks-rec@citfbaycity.org.
The 6th Annual Wild Game and Wine Camofest will be from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, in downtown Bay City on Avenue G.
The event honors Bay City native and world-renowned artist, Forrest Clemenger Bess, 1911-1977.
While serving in the Army Corps of Engineers during WWII, Forrest received a commendation for designing camouflage.
Ticket prices range from $10-$50 for food camp wristbands and special packages – all can be bought online in advance, or at the main tent Saturday.
Visitors will have the chance to sample wild game, fowl, and seafood prepared by local cook teams and to taste regional wine from Texas wineries.
Live entertainment will be provided by Ernie Aparicio and Ashtyn Kruse, Zydeco Dots, and Rewind Texas.
This is a rain or shine event that also features retail and food truck vendors.
