An 11-year-old girl was apparently shot while walking her on Misty Lane in south Bay City, late Thursday afternoon, Feb. 10, Bay City Police Department reported.
Police determined that the child was walking her dog in the grassy area of 4901 Misty Lane.
“She claims she heard a ‘boom’ and felt pain in her back,” a BCPD press release reported.
“She then ran back to her apartment and notified her parent who took her to the EMS station” on Hamman Road.
The victim was treated and released from MRMC.
BCPD said officers were first sent to Allegiance Mobile Health (EMS) at 2900 Hamman Road in reference to shots fired at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Officers were notified that there was a female in the EMS parking lot that had been shot.
It was discovered the victim was an 11-year-old female.
The case is still under investigation.
