The Bay City Ladycats ignored the unpleasant weather conditions and handed the El Campo girls soccer team a 10-0 shutout Saturday.
It’s the girls’ 15th shutout of the season.
The girls maintained their defensive structure that kept El Campo from threatening.
The second half action – the Ladycats scored five goals in each half – pinned El Campo deep in their own territory. It’s a familiar pattern for the ball-control Bay City team.
“I was pleased with our performance,” said Head Coach Darin Dabelgott.
“We are constantly working on things to get us ready for the playoffs, he added.
He was bemused when asked if the weather was a factor in the game.
“We play an outdoor sport in the middle of winter.
“It’s not soccer weather if it’s not cold and wet!
