Rollins tells retired teachers about Harvest House

The Matagorda County Retired Teacher’s Association recently held its March meeting at the First Baptist Church in Bay City.
The guest speaker at the meeting was Willie Rollins, Director of the Harvest House Community Food Pantry.
Rollins spoke about the history of the Harvest House which began its food ministry in the early 1990’s in Bay City and continues to serve needy families experiencing food insecurity in the immediate community and in Matagorda County.
Currently, the Harvest House distributes approximately 300,000 pounds of food annually.
Through the dedicated efforts of a volunteer staff and workers, along with the financial support of several community churches and other organizations, the Harvest House is focused on its mission of ensuring that individuals and families in the community do not go hungry.
Rollins also shared with members at the meeting that later this year the Harvest House will be temporarily relocating to the O.H. Herman campus in Van Vleck until a new Harvest House facility can be built in Bay City.
