Officers John Alvarez and Charles Coombs were sworn in as new Bay City Police Officers by Chief Robert Lister at a ceremony at City Hall Council Chambers July 6.
Alvarez graduated from Nixon-Smiley High School in 2018.
He attended WCJC’s EMS program and later applied to the WCJC Police Academy Spring 2022 semester before joining BCPD.
Alvarez and his wife Vanessa have a daughter, Annalise.
Coombs’ father served with BCPD for 15 years.
Combs graduated from Bay City High School in June 2011.
Combs, his wife Charity and daughters Charlotte and Cecelia Coombs live in Bay City.
In January, Coombs attended the WCJC Police Academy and graduated June 8, and was hired by BCPD March 7.
