Bay City police arrested a 31-year-old woman of for improper relationship between educators and online solicitation of a minor under 14 Thursday morning, Aug. 25, police reports show.
Sgt. Minerva Pena, was sent to Municipal Court Aug. 25 for a warrant service.
When she arrived, Pena served a warrant on Daena Coreas Delgado, 31, of Bay City, for improper relationship between educators and online solicitation of a minor under 14, police said.
The warrants are the result of an investigation that began in October 2021, police said.
Originally, Delgado was investigated and arrested for injury to a child after assaulting the victim who was under the age of 14 years old at the time, reports show.
Through further investigation, detectives determined there was an improper relationship between Delgado and the victim who was a former student, police said, adding detectives also found there also there was online solicitation of the same victim.
Detectives obtained warrants and they were served on the suspect who was taken to the Matagorda County Jail and booked on charges.
At this time detectives believe there is only one victim.
