A 26-year-old Bay City ISD paraprofessional aide was arrested on four separate charges Sept. 23, Bay City Police Department reported.
Police arrested Karina Romero, 26, of Bay City, on two charges of sexual assault, one charge of tamper/fabricate physical evidence, and one charge of improper relationship between educator/student, reports show.
The woman was a Paraprofessional Aide for BCISD, police said.
The charges stem from a request made by the Bay City ISD Police Department after learning that the suspect was allegedly carrying on a relationship and engaging in electronic communications of a sexual nature with at least two students, police reports show.
These offenses were alleged to have occurred outside the school, outside school hours, but within the city limits of Bay City, police reported.
Bay City Police Detective Chris Cunningham is the lead investigator on the case and the case is still active and ongoing.
