A boil water notice that had affected Bay City water customers over parts of four days was rescinded about mid-day Saturday, Feb. 11.
The boil water notice was first issued around noon Wednesday when a motor went down at the Katy water plant, lowering water pressure in the city water distribution system.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality then required the city to notify customers to boil water to eliminate all harmful bacteria.
City Manager Shawna Burkhart said the new plant motor was replaced Thursday afternoon.
Test results sent to TCEQ were expected back Friday, but the boil water notice wasn’t lifted until Saturday.
