Second trailer fire at 2517 Nichols this year

A second trailer fire at 2517 Nichols destroyed the structure Sunday night, March 19, Fire Marshal Dan Shook reported.
The Bay City Fire Department and Bay City Police Department – the first responding units dispatched after several people made 9-1-1 calls - identified heavy fire showing from the trailer, unit No. 35, at 2517 Nichols at about 9:11 p.m. Sunday.
The fire and smoke damage was contained to the trailer, Shook said.
The trailer’s owners were at a neighboring trailer when they noticed the responding fire units arrive.
Neighbors noticed the fire coming from the trailer and called 9-1-1.
The fire consumed the whole trailer before it was extinguished by the fire department.
The fire was brought under control in about an hour, he said.
Damage to the trailer and personal property was estimated to be about $7,000.
The fire marshal has listed the fire as undetermined, pending additional investigation.
Shook said there does not appear to be any connection between this fire and the blaze that occurred at trailer No. 56 at 2517 Nichols on Jan. 8, at this time.
