Tidehaven JV football team opened up with a 26-24 win in Goliad last night.
The game was back and forth throughout with Goliad taking the lead with 1:21 left to go.
The Tigers marched down the field led by QB Camden Johnson and WR Angel Guitererrez combining on 2 great catches to get us in FG range.
Kicker Paco Lara drilled a 34 yard FG with 20 seconds left in the game to get the victory.
19 of our 26 points came in the 4th quarter.
Scoring for the Tigers: QB Camden Johnson 1 yd td run, 28 yard reception by Angel Guitererez from Johnson, Ashton Klaiber 32 yard td reception from Johnson.
On receiving end of 2 pt conversion passes from Johnson were: Angel Guitererez and Hunter Garcia.
Lara was 1-1 extra points and the FG.
Leading the team on defense were: LBers Juluis Garcia, Caiden Glaze, Mathew Riddick and Hunter Garcia.
DT Evan Saavedra was dominant up front.
